Dermatologist Skin Checks and Exams

A skin exam performed by a dermatology specialist is utilized to identify oddly-shaped or colored moles, growths, and other lesions or changes on your skin. Skin exams and mole mapping are crucial when it comes to maintaining healthy skin and when keeping an eye on potentially precancerous abnormalities. Exams by your skin care doctor can help find many skin cancers early on when they are easier to medically treat. Regular skin exams are very important for people who are at higher risk of skin cancer.

When you visit a dermatology center like Cayce Dermatology to perform a skin check, you are taking the right preventative steps to living a long and healthy life.

Semi-Annual and Annual Skin Checks to Help Prevent Skin Cancer

Scheduling a regular skin exam could save your life. Aside from preventative measures like applying sunscreen every day, visiting a dermatologist annually for a skin cancer screening is the leading way to take full care of your beautiful skin. The number of skin cancer diagnoses are soaring. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, more than 4 million skin cancers are diagnosed in the United States every year. This number continues to rise annually.

Don’t leave your skincare to chance. When skin cancer is caught early enough, there is a 98% chance or higher it can be cured. Thus, if you are wondering when, or if, you should see a dermatologist, remember that a regular, annual skin check at our dermatology clinic can save your life.
